The Sinfonia Newydd Chamber Series was launched in October 2010, to provide a different type of contemporary music performance experience, not only to its expanding pool of composers but also its audience.
The chamber series produces approximately 1 chamber concert per month drawing on players from both within and outside of the core Sinfonia Newydd Ensemble.
Unlike it’s bi-annual ensemble programme, the chamber series offers a much more consistent programme of contemporary music giving composers the opportunity to showcase smaller, more intimate works. Again, unlike the ensemble counterpart, the chamber series focuses on presenting composers’ work in Cardiff-based venues outside of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in an attempt to reach a much wider audience profile whilst further promoting the work of Wales’ young contemporary composers.
